Aid First Initiative
Navigating Mental Health & Grief Support Together
Our Purpose (The Why)
Closing the gap between seeking care and actually receiving it so no one carries grief or mental health challenges alone.
Our Impact (The What)
Immediate human listening, subsidized care, warm hand-offs, and wrap-around support for whole families.
When life gets overwhelming or you are grieving a loss, trying to figure out where to turn shouldn't feel like a second job. At Dee Faye’s Let’s Talk Foundation, we meet you right where you are—cutting through the noise to make sure you never have to walk through it alone.
Across the country, studies show that roughly 50% of people who get a cold list of phone numbers for mental health never end up seeing a provider because the process is too confusing, expensive, or exhausting [1]. Aid First is designed to fix that.
How Aid First Works (Our 5 Pillars)
Immediate, Human Listening
When you reach out, you won't get a cold, automated system. You get a real human being dedicated to listening without judgment, giving you immediate comfort and a safe space to breathe.
Meeting You Across the Full Continuum of Care
You don't need to be in a severe crisis to ask for support. We meet individuals and families at every level:
- Preventative & Mental Wellness Tools and check-ins to handle everyday stress and anxiety.
- Trauma-Informed Postvention & Bereavement Specialized, gentle care for families navigating loss, especially following a suicide.
- Targeted Clinical Connections Matching you with licensed therapists and community clinics for long-term care.
Care Coordination & Warm Hand-Offs
We don't just hand you a list of phone numbers and leave you to figure it out. We personally introduce you to vetted therapists who fit your specific background, location, and needs so you are never passed around or forgotten.
Removing Systemic Barriers & Subsidizing Care
Navigating forms, waitlists, and insurance when you're exhausted is overwhelming. We walk through those steps with you, and we help cover initial intake fees and counseling costs so financial stress won't hold you back.
Wrap-Around Family Support
Mental health challenges affect entire households. We provide families with practical tools, peer connections, and open community discussions so everyone can learn, open up, and heal together.
